Observatory

I have built me myself an observatory. The reason for this is mostly time and comfort. Its rely nice to have a place there everything is ready to use when ever you want. No more time spending on mounting and polar aligning. The Observatory is built in an old stable that we have in our yard. It has a roll of roll on roof that glides on reels. A little pooch and I´m ready to observe!

Modifikations 2005

It was tree years sins I build my Observatory now. Every year I have built it bigger and better. The Swedish summer is perfect for that. Now the Observatory is ready for next season. It starts in a few weeks. Click on the link to visit my Observatory.

Some text may still be in Swedish. Sorry, but I think the pictures speaks for it self.

Renovation 2004

The size of the Observatory is now the double! The roof is a half meter higher up. There are tree reasons for this. I don’t have to bang my head in the roof every time I enter the place. I also get rid of some direct light from my neighbors and the wind don’t catch the telescope so easy. The roof is now also easier to move.
The Observatory is now also connected to Internet. This give me also the possibility to control everything from my house true a internal Intranet! So now I can say that I have a 180 square metre  Observatory :)

The cost of building the Observatory lays around 700$. It’s worth every dime! And it has been really fun to do it. And one more thing. Nearly the best of all is when you are cold and tired in the middle of the night. Just close the roof and in a minute you are in a warm bed!
